Position:
Cryptologic Linguist – Operational Linguists. Arabic (MSA), Dari, Persian Farsi, Pashto, Urdu, Indonesian, Kurdish, Russian, Kurdish Sorani, and Somali.

Job Description:
- Transcription of spoken language into either their native language or a machine-compatible transliteration system

Translation of spoken language or graphic materials into modern American English in either verbatim or gisted format

Scanning of foreign materials and assigning disposition codes in accordance with established guidance

Drafting of SIGINT report as requested

Review and analyze foreign language materials in light of other source information

Provide quality control of translated (verbatim and/or gisted) materials as requested

Sharing of language expertise

Participation in analyst-to-analyst exchanges, seminars, and conferences as requested
- Travel in support of the above tasks when requested

Experience requirements will vary depending on position
Required Experience:
- Minimum of a level 3/3 in the required skills (translation, listening, reading) defined by the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR)

Sufficient English speaking skills to effectively produce well-written and accurate gists, summaries, translation, and reports in American English

Native or near-native competency in the foreign language and excellent command of the grammar, construction, and syntax
- Linguistic expertise of the target language and cultural knowledge of its environment
- Basic data entry and word processing skills and the ability to use advanced language software programs

Basic Internet research skills
Required Education:
- Experience requirements will vary depending on position but at a minimum 1-4 years experience in the field, a minimum HS/GED is required. Having an AA is preferred.

U.S. Citizenship Required
Security Clearance:
TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
