Regional Analyst

Job Description:
Identify, obtain, and exploit “nuggets” of collateral information from all available sources (classified as well as open-source, printed as well as video) that may be relevant to the study of Afghanistan Regional and combat operation issues
- Research current and historical hardcopy and softcopy imagery, maps, graphics, and geospatial data —which may include imagery from NTM, air-breather, or civil/commercial sensors, maps, line drawings, CADD/CAM data, GIDI/GIFD data, and raster and vector data —to answer detailed information requirements dealing with Afghanistan issues
- Collaborate with PSCC staff to exploit, analyze, report, and disseminate information for the benefit of decision maker
- Assess and solve problems in acquiring intelligence through the critical application of a variety of data sources, supporting collateral data, and geospatial technology
- Extract and/or access geospatial information, derivative information and multi-intelligence data to provide requirements, currency, accuracy, readiness, responsiveness, data integrity, and relevancy recommendations that support the analysis of all types of data available for use by the military, intelligence, and policy-making communities
- Participate in the production of the full range of NGA GEOINT products including the effective briefing presentations
- Create, update, and manage GEOINT information knowledge bases needed for the analysis of Afghanistan Regional Issues.
- Create and maintain databases, summary data, spreadsheets, graphic documents, and maintain PSCC web and Intellipedia sites
- Perform detailed studies by assisting or leading in coordination efforts to obtain and evaluate GEOINT for long-term application to the analysis of the Afghanistan issue
- Evaluate, analyze, and integrate multi-INT disciplines to determine shortfalls in data needed to solve Afghanistan Regional Issues, identify responsiveness gaps, and prepare data requirements as needed.

Required Experience:
- Perform research activities utilizing numerous databases such as NGA’s Voyager, PMAA/GRTools, SAP, PMT, RAS, catalogue systems like Defense Logistics Agency’s: WEBREQ, Defense Intelligence Agency’s (DIA) catalog, DNI’s Open Source Center as well as the Map Services Center (MSC) catalog, Harmony Database, Library of Congress (LOC) catalogs, GIDI/GIFD, M3, GNDB, NES, and so forth as well as geospatial and imagery software systems like ARC GIS/ARC View, ERDAS Imagine, MAPINFO, FOXPRO, or REMOTE VIEW
- Knowledgeable NGA used classified research databases, to include M3, CIRAS, INTELINK WEBSAFE, and Harmony Database
- Experience with combining digital cartography, computer technology, GIS, cartographic and geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and digital data formats
- Experience with Disseminating both preliminary and finished regional analysis intelligence products that contribute to solving questions about the availability and relevancy of geospatial data needed to support analysis products related to crisis operations, impacting the military, intelligence and policy-making communities

Required Education:
- Minimum 2-4 years experience in the field and a minimum HS/GED is required. A Service School Basic (SSB) or equivalent is preferred.

U.S. Citizenship Required

Security Clearance:
TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
